Can u tell me of any hotels in the area?

C S asked:

I’ve gotten a booth at the Harlem Book Fair this year, and am trying to find a nice hotel, or bed and breakfast that is near the location:
West 135th Street, from Malcom X to Frederick Douglass Blvd. in Harlem. I was also wondering how far the bus station or La Gaurdia Airport would be from this area, and typical cab rates in case I end up staying somewhere that is a few miles out. I’ve tried researching it, but because I don’t know New York at all, it’s kind of hard to tell what’s what. I would really appreciate any information you could give me if you know of anything.

Can you help me find out what book this is?

Echo asked:

I read a book a few years ago and really loved it. It was about a girl who was adopted. When she was 17 she went searching for her biological mother. Her search leads her to the town where her mother was born and she finds the house her mother lived in. The girl reads a diary her mother wrote and finds out that her mother had gotten pregnant when she was really young. After staying in the town and living in a bed and breakfast for a while with a hospitable woman, the girl comes to the end of her search and finds out where her mother is. Living in a city ( Boston or New York) the girls mother is, with her children from a marriage. The girl is surprised to see how rich and snooty her mother is, and after lunch with her mother ( After her mother recommends she wear chunky jewlry instead of the little yellow butterfly she was currently wearing) the girl realises that she loves her adopted mother and happily goes back to live with her.

I know it sounds like a know a lot about the book for not being able to find it, but I just can’t.
Also, I believe the mothers name is Julie.

Pocket-friendly Bed & Breakfasts: anyone know any good ones?

rosinha asked:

I’m planning to stay for 2 days w/ my hubby in the third week of December, and I’m looking for B&Bs around the tri-state area (NY, NJ, CT) but preferably along Route 23 in New York State (scenic route). I’ve been using www.bbonline.com but the cheapest I’ve come upon is $100/night. Now, I don’t want the B&B to be so cheap that I’m killing roaches, but I also don’t have loads of $$$$. I’d be ok with anything $50-$100 (at most). Is this wishful thinking, or can it be done? And if you’ve stayed in economical B&Bs, did you have a good experience? Thank you in advance! :)

Need recomendations for Virginia/Maryland area Country Inns and Bed and Breakfasts?

shellsandscripts asked:

Need recomendations for Virginia/Maryland area Country Inns and Bed and Breakfasts.
I’m open to any suggestions the area should have some local culture, like small museums or galleries, maybe some play theaters etc. I choose Virginia/Maryland, I’m really looking for 4-5 hour South/Southeast drive from New York City.
If the inn has a web site, that would be very helpful!

Hey I asked my dad to help me with the problem that Train A leaves New York at noon going 100 MPH, and Train B?

Jessie K asked:

leaves New York at 4 pm going 80 mph, so how long would it take train B to catch train A, and he said “Jessie, that train A has been trying to catch train B even when I was in school so if it’s still trying, it’s not going to happen.”

So does anyone out there want to hellp me for real he thinks he is funny but he’s not.

Can anyone suggest a good place for a week’s vacation within a half day-day’s drive of New York city?

Firefly asked:

My partner (from Germany) at work approached me and asked me for some local input in planning his two week vacation to New York city. He wants to spend the first week in they city, and then drive somewhere within a 1/2 day’s drive to spend the second week in a rented house or possibly a bed and breakfast either on the coast near a beach or in/near a national park with beautiful wooded scenery. He has a 10 year old and a 14 year old and would like to go somewhere with ‘beautiful trees, a state park, or something along the ocean with water sports’. I think he was thinking of something along the tri-state area coastal front, but he also seems receptive to state parks in-state/up-state New York or New Jersey, especially if there’s stuff for his kids to do (hiking, outdoors/water sports, etc.) Beautiful scenery and keeping his kids happy seem to be the priorities. Please send any links of places that you think fit the bill.

Do you live in or near Park Slope, Brooklyn?

iTRAVEL asked:

I want to stay at a Bed&Breakfast in Park Slope, located on 12th Street between 4th and 5th Avenue. Is this a safer neighborhood? I know New York is as safe as any other city; I’m just asking so I can make choices.
